Ryan Martin, DPT (Co-Founder/ Physical Therapist)



Born and raised in Middle Village, New York, Ryan is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy and has been involved in the healthcare field for 12 years. With a Bachelors Degree from Columbia University and a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from Long Island University- Brooklyn Campus, Ryan’s affection for his profession and dynamic personality have facilitated his many successful clinical experiences. Ryan’s knowledge of human movement and rehabilitation have helped him regenerate many professional athletes, collegiate athletes, television personalities, corporate executives, marathon runners, triathaletes and weekend warriors. Ryan served as a consultant for two of the most prestigious rehabilitation companies in the Metropolitan Area and was involved in the rehabilitation of Iona College athletes. Currently, Ryan treats many student athletes of varying sports from local area high schools and colleges as well as members of the local community.  He is constantly expanding and building upon his reputation in the healthcare community by utilizing his rehabilitation skills on a full-time basis at ProMet Physical Therapy, P.C: the culmination of Ryan’s vision for quality Physical Therapy, emphasizing the importance of individualized care. Ryan’s specialty areas of interest include the shoulder and the overhead athlete, as well as the rehabilitation of the knee, lower back and neck.  He is a current and active member of the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association).

Julian Samodulski, DPT (Co-Founder/ Physical Therapist)

Julian received his B.A. from The Honors College at Adelphi University and his Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from Long Island University- Brooklyn Campus. He started his career in healthcare working with developmentally disabled children. Over time, Julian's interests in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation led him to one of Manhattan’s premier rehabilitation facilities where he was given the title of Senior Sports Therapist. There, he treated a variety of patients with various conditions and had success in rehabilitating Olympic level athletes, academy award winning actors/actresses and professional basketball players. Julian is currently involved in the rehabilitation of many local area high school and college athletes.  He is proud to utilize and continue to grow his rehabilitation and clinical expertise on a full-time basis at ProMet Physical Therapy, P.C. for the people of the community he was raised in, Middle Village. With his knowledge of human movement and his confident and patient demeanor, he is dedicated to building his reputation by bringing the highest quality of Physical Therapy care to his patients. Julian's specialty areas of interest include the rehabilitation of knee, ankle and lower back injuries and has had extensive experience with maximizing functional capabilities in people with overuse injuries (i.e. marathon runners).  Julian is currently an active member of the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association).

Helen Gonzalez, MSPT (Physical Therapist)

After attending Forest Hills High School, Helen pursued her Physical Therapy studies at College of Staten Island. While at College of Staten Island, she received both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Helen has more than 1 year experience in Pediatric Physical Therapy and in Homecare Physical Therapy. She is a Level I Brain Injury Specialist. Helen also worked as a Physical Therapist at NYU School of Medicine for 3 years. Helen is dedicated to becoming an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist while practicing at ProMet Physical Therapy, P.C. She is also interested in becoming a specialist in the Maitland-Australian approach to Physical Therapy as well as a specialist in the McKenzie Method, a comprehensive Physical Therapy approach to the spine. Helen continues to expand on her expertise and areas of interest while practicing at ProMet Physical Therapy.
